Child safety policy

Spriggi Sports – Child Safe Policy
Version: 1.0 | Approved: 10 th November 2025

Purpose:
This policy outlines Spriggi Sports’ commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all children
and young people who engage with our organisation and website. It ensures compliance
with Victorian Child Safe Standards, the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations,
and Australian online safety obligations.

1. Scope & Application
Applies to all Spriggi Sports online services, employees, volunteers, contractors, and third-
party vendors.

2. Commitment to Child Safety
Spriggi Sports has zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, grooming, or exploitation. We
prioritise children's best interests in all decisions and uphold inclusion and cultural safety.

3. Governance & Responsibilities
The Director is responsible for overall compliance. A designated Child Safety Officer
oversees implementation, training, and reporting obligations.

4. Recruitment & Training
All personnel must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete induction
and refresher training, and understand mandatory reporting obligations.

5. Online Safety & Privacy
Spriggi Sports implements age-appropriate access controls, content moderation, privacy by
design, and clear reporting mechanisms across all digital platforms.

6. Reporting & Response
All staff and volunteers must report suspected child abuse or online harm immediately.
Reports are escalated to authorities in line with Victorian Reportable Conduct and eSafety
Commissioner requirements.

7. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
Child safety risks are regularly reviewed, and systems are updated in line with law,
technology, and incident learnings.

8. Communication & Accessibility
Spriggi Sports will publish child-friendly and parent-accessible safety information on its
website, and ensure transparency in reporting and updates.

9. Review & Approval
This policy will be reviewed annually or following any significant change in legislation or
operational structure.
